  • FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY, getting around to this. a bunch of my friends and i went for the SkyDome experience behind the scenes tour. we had a bit of trouble finding it, based on the instructions saying gate 3, not really giving an indication about the "experience box office" being on a lower level BY gate three. the only tour they offer comes at the price of 16 bucks and the home webpage offers a coupon for a dollar off...not much but i will take it, i was shocked that we actually received Ticketmaster style tickets. my group of friends were also told that some sections of the building were off limits because of private events, my friend and i were really looking forward to maybe walking on the field and maybe touring the level 100 section. we were a bit early for the first tour which was at 11 *disclaimer* the tours generally run on a daily basis between the hours of 11-5pm however its not every day, at the beginning of the month they post a schedule on the homepage. we met our tour guide who looked at all of our tickets *at this point there was 16 of us* and we were in the building. the tour guide was someone that i cannot possibly say anything bad about, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and attention to comments or questions, which i had a few of them. we started off on the 200 levels, he went through the history of the building, a little bit about the roof and so on. we ventured up to the 500's where we were told about the roof and all the history behind it, we ventured down to the 300's, got to see the "sportsnet" booth, the press box, the children's charity room, a former restaurant, and of course all the seats and field. we shortly found out what the private event was, as we were in the seats, listening to the various history and sections for the building, people were doing open ceremony prep for the pan am games. being a person who had been to many different events in this building, it was nice to go through and see the behind the scenes, i really wish we could have seen more, but it gives us a chance to go back to see another tour.
