| - So as we have been traveling cross country and back, Pilot has pretty much become the staple for where we stop, gas up the RV, get coffee & snacks, and have a little bit of a break. Each one we have been to has been a welcome stop, until now.
#1 - No place to pull in an RV like most Pilots. OK, I'll go to the Auto area.
#2 - First pump I picked was broken. OK, circle around a packed gas station with 35' behind me maneuver through all the cars.
#3 - Second pump I find. A guy is cleaning the ground, so I choose to wait for him to finish before I pull in, given that all other pumps have long lines. Took about 5 or 6 minutes, and then he walks up to me slowly and asks if I am waiting for that pump. Ummm, yeah.... (COULD IT HAVE BEEN ANY MORE OBVIOUS??) . HE TELLS ME THAT PUMP IS BROKEN.
#4 - THIRD PUMP. There is one guy in a small car pumping ahead of me. OK, this will be fast. 5 minutes, ten minutes... WTF? How long can this guy possibly take????
#5 - I finally get to the pump and start pumping. Let me try to be clear about how slow the pump was. 20 minutes to pump 50 gallons. Do the math, please!!!! I ask others, and people at other pumps are having the same experience. All the while I watch countless cars pull into that broken pump lane and learn what I had learned the hard way. Ummm, dude.... how about a 'BROKEN" sign?
#6 - I go inside to grab a drink, restroom break & snack. This is the smallest and dingiest Pilot I have seen in the country. Bathrooms dirty. Messy... just plain uninviting.
#7 - My wife asks me if we wanna check the tires. Seriously, by now I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
So my recommendation if you are reading this: Keep driving.
