| - We recently decided to undertake renovating a house that had been owned by my grandparents for 40 plus years. What began as a plan to "update" the house turned into "rebuilding" the house when we discovered that there was significant termite damage. The damage required us to basically tear the house down and start over. Despite having hired a contractor, the process turned into a complete fiasco.
When it was time to drywall the newly framed walls it was discovered that no doors or windows had been ordered. In a panic I began contacting door and window contractors in an effort to get the house closed up as soon as possible. After several meetings with both window and door companies, I had been assured that it was going to take a minimum of 6 - 8 weeks to get what I needed.
After another discouraging meeting with a supplier, I was driving through Mesa and saw The Door and Trim Store. On a whim I pulled in. I was greeted by Tobin Rudd. I told him about my situation and instead of telling me that my timeline would be impossible to meet, he offered encouragement and said that not only could they help with doors, they could also get windows in about 10 days.
I gave Tobin a copy of the blue prints and he got right to work. It turns out that Tobin has a design background and appreciates the history of the house we were working on. It was so nice to finally have someone who not only could help with what we needed but who was as excited about the project as we were. Tobin offered suggestions and advise that we needed and sincerely appreciated. His knowledge and experience were invaluable. He listened to our thoughts and ideas and completely understood what we wanted. The front door that he put on our house is amazing. The interior doors were designed with the original architecture in mind and are exactly what we wanted. The windows took a fraction of the time that every other suppliers said they would take. Tobin had the windows installed quickly so the drywall installation could proceed.
We were so happy with the doors and windows that we also ordered the interior trim for the house and that turned out great too. We had no idea what type of trim would look best and, once again, we were able to rely on Tobin's design knowledge to lead us in the right direction. We couldn't be happier with the result.
