This is the second Hilton resort property in Arizona my family and I have stayed, and it also was a bit of a disappointment like the first in Tucson 4 years ago. The other Hilton Hotel properties we stayed at seem fine but their resorts seem to be lacking in Arizona.
The pluses: nice looking hacienda rooms done in an Arizona Biltmore style. Nothing higher than 2nd floor. Rooms are spacious and clean. Nice location if you plan on spending time at the Scottsdale Fashion Mall or Old Scottsdale. They offer a very nice breakfast buffet that was actually very reasonably priced. Also has two outdoor swimming pools, 1 large and 1 smaller.
The minuses: the main pool is big but it could use some attention, especially some cleaning. The 2 ice machines closest to our room did not work. Most of the staff seemed bored or uninterested in working there - not exactly the happiest or friendliest group of people, but not rude or obnoxious.
Overall it was okay, but a letdown for a resort. We will probably not stay here again.
