  • I chose this location because Dr Chan performs surgery at SVH and does fantastic work from what I heard from his patients that I recovered. I was in a one vehicle roll over and ejection from suv . Dr chan had informed me at the first appointments that depending on the results of MRI I may have to be treated by an associate of his. My first appointment was at 710 am perfect time. The wait was about twenty min in lobby not bad I think I had an insurance issue bc my card for the new year hadn't arrived and they had to verify coverage over the phone. Once I got to the exam room a tech escorted me to the xray room for xrays and brought me back to exam room. Dr chan entered the room shortly after and was irritated that umc never did mri on my knee and shoulder. I explained to him I have one scheduled at the end of month..dr chan then had his secretary call Steinberg and they were able to perform MRI the same day..kudos to Dr chan!! I was scheduled to come back the following week ti get results. next week arrived and I was given the news that I have a torn acl,lcl,and mcl in my knee as well as a really bad torn labrum. Bad news was that my care was being transferred to dr.bradley baker bc it was his area of expertise..so I was sent a feww doors down to talk to dr Baker about results. Dr baker was tall, handsome and easy on the eyes if I may say so lol! He reviewed my Mri in the room with me and explained in detail his plan for my knee and shoulder. At this time no knee sx but PT for 4-6 weeks and a different knee brace and we will evaluate later..My shoulder on the other hand was a bad tear of the labrum.and therapy wasn't going to get it surgery was the only solution, my shoulder had been dislocated at some point in the crash.He explained recovery and how that will be the toughest part. He sent shauwna his scheduler in to review therapy referrals and schedule surgery date.. Long story short..I had no problems with the staff or the wait time. My last appointment was at 3 pm I was sure I was going to be waiting forever but just 5 minutes. I'll update after my surgery in February!
