Another great race put on by the competitor group. This event is the 3rd largest 1/2 marathon in the USA and it showed by the chaos at the end.
This was my 4th 1/2 marathon in 8 months and it was just as much fun as my first one. The expo was probably the largest expo I've seen. As usual, very well organized.
The course was relatively flat with some minor elevation change. It started in Phoenix and finished in Tempe at Sun Devil Stadium. From a scenery point of view it was okay. Seattle was much prettier.
The weather was perfect for running. It was in high 50s/low 60's with some clouds at the start (8:30am 1/2 marathon start) and was in the low 70s and sunny by 11am. The warmest part of the run was around mile 8 which has zero wind and felt like it was in the high 70s.
A big thank you goes out to the support staff on the race for taking care of all the runners and making it easier for me to put one foot in front of another for 13.1 miles. THANK YOU!
New York City 1/2 Marathon you are next!
