I planned ahead to elope here with my partner of 7+ years, and it was as tacky as we hoped for. We went for the drive-thru "Tunnel of Love" option for maximum effect, and enjoyed the gaudy decor thoroughly. Caution: may tours stopped to take pictures of us during the ceremony, so car service is not for the shy/private. The wedding service itself was cheap, but watch out for the overpriced extras (flowers, photos).
We did get the shake-down by the minister for sure - a minimum $40 tip as the chapel doesn't pay them, which strikes me as pretty shiesty. Just be sure to bring cash. I was a bit caught off-guard when he (a) used the very traditional vows - i.e. protect/obey, and (b) told me off for not changing my name, but I suppose that varies from pastor to pastor.
