| - I used Casablanca to custom make my wedding band using my great grandmother's wedding band and stones. I will say I was very disappointed in their customer service. I went there on a recommendation from my mother. The girl was very nice. I told her exactly what I wanted, which was a bit on the funky side. I needed the ring to fit my engagement band on one side and I wanted it to mirror the same curvature on the other side. She said she may not be able to make both sides fit the ring, but that they could make it look like it did. That sounded perfect to me. We agreed that we would talk about the placement of the stones after she talked to the jeweler (I had 5 diamonds and an emerald). So some time went by, no call or text from the people there about the stone placement or anything. Then, I get a text with the mold for the ring. It is a plain curved band....nothing like what we talked about. I told the girl that it was not what I wanted and she said that what I wanted didn't make sense because they would have had to do a lot of extra work to make it happen. That was not my impression from her when I asked them to do the work and paid the deposit. I was disappointed. Then I asked about the stone placement, since I was never consulted on that matter. She told me she put the emerald in the middle, which was not what I wanted. I wanted the emerald fifth from one side or second from the other. She agreed that they would make a new mold so that I could at least have that the way I wanted. Well, when I got the new mold, the emerald was on one end. When I asked why it wasn't done the way I wanted it done, she said that it would be better her way due to the size of the stones. Well.....again, that wasn't what she said originally, when I asked originally she said ' Of course, it is your ring.' Well it sure didn't feel like my ring. She cast the ring her way after assuring me it was better. After receiving the ring, I can see why they needed to do things the way they did due to the different sizes of the stones, but they never clearly explained this to me. This all could have been resolved if they had informed me of what they were thinking about doing and why throughout the process, but they didn't. They kept telling me they could do what I wanted, and then doing whatever they wanted instead. There are some pros to the experience: The ring does fit against my engagement ring and they sized my engagement ring to the correct size, so that was good. The price was also reasonable and they were willing to use the gold from the original ring to make the new ring. I just wish they had better communication skills as they really left me with a bad taste in my mouth for their business and I would probably not use them again.
