| - My experience from start to finish with this adoption agency was poor.
I went to an adoption event at Petsmart right around Valentines Day 2018. The place was a madhouse, to be expected. My family and I looked around at all the different animals and set our eyes on a particular dog that seemed calm among the chaos. When I asked for information about the dog, all they could tell me was his name and age. They didn't have information about his disposition. I have a 1 year old and an 11 year old, so this information is kind of important. I decided to throw caution into the wind and adopt the dog anyway. I had to wait over an hour for them to do all this paperwork and process it through Pestmart only because they were so disorganized.
Lo and behold, the reason the dog was calm was because he was ill. The paperwork that you sign for the dog says that the dog is in good health and they are not responsible for anything after the dog is adopted, so we paid over $100 to get him well. Once he was well, it was clear that he didn't do well around males nor did he do well around children, particularly my 1 year old. My 1 year old didn't do anything to hurt the dog, but the dog would constantly get in between us and even try to nip at the baby. I tolerated for it as long as I could, but then the dog actually BIT my 11 year old out of nowhere. This was the last straw and I ended up needing to return the dog out of safety for the children.
When I called the number included in the paperwork that said to call if there was a need to return the dog, the lady I spoke to (Diana) was the rudest person I have ever encountered. She implied that this was all my fault. She even left the call for a minute and when I asked if she was still with me she told me that she was dealing with other matters. She continually interrupted me and spoke down to me when I was clearly in a panic over having my child bit by this dog. I was able to return the dog (without a refund, of course, as the paperwork stated).
I will NEVER deal with this group again. I recommend you don't either.
