We were visiting from Toronto, last weekend. The four of us are travel agents and have been "wined and dined" by the best restaurants in the world. We can tell honestly that our experience at ABC was top notch. The pear salad was to die for - two girls stated that it was the best salad, that they have ever had. The Caesar salad was also excellent. The dressing was home made and was an authentic Caesar dressing with anchovies. It was nice that this salad contained bacon, as I have noticed that many restaurants in US do" play it safe" (not to offend anyone who doesn't eat pork) and do not put bacon in their Caesar salads, which is a huge mistake and it takes away so much from the taste. The prosciutto, fig and pear pizza was unusual and very tasty. The dough was cooked to perfection. I loved the carmelized onions - what a nice touch. The mushroom and chicken pizza was also very good. Samy was very friendly and gave us almost undivided attention (there was a large table, beside us).
We were so full and almost did not want a dessert, but we just had to try one. We had the flourless German chocolate cake - with toasted caramel coconut on top. It was to die for! Amy is a great cook and obviously takes lots of pride in her work.
When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't open yet, so we had a chance to talk to two employees. They both stated that they are being treated and paid well and love working for Amy and Samy, as they are great people.
If you are visiting the Phoenix area - you have to visit ABC - you won't regret it.
Thank you so much guys for your hard work and please don't stop cooking.
