  • On September 4th, I took my dress to another seamstress and she recommended that I return my dress to the store I purchased it from to have it steamed and pressed (to help avoid additional charges through her company). This was a service Bowties offers for free if you purchased your dress from them. My seamstress did not do any work at all on my dress. She only looked through each layer to determine the cost of her services. She informed me that the steaming and pressing of my dress would take at minimum 3 hours to be done properly due to the extensive layering . My sister and I then take my dress back to Bowties to have it steamed and pressed. They told me they were only willing to steam and press it as long as no work had been done on the dress. I informed them no one had worked on it and they told me it would only take 10-15 minutes to steam. I waited while the worked on it, I did not feel like it was steamed thoroughly or properly but I just said okay. They packed up my dress and my sister and I traveled 15-20 minutes back to the seamstress. Upon arrival, we hung my dress from the hook on the ceiling. My seamstress begins to go through the layers of my dress to make sure they are properly steamed and notices a HUGE burn in a layer of tool, the size and shape of an iron. After going through the dress thoroughly, we discover three more areas that are burned and shriveled. I was not infuriated at this time, mainly because it was on the bottom layer. I called Ivanna and told her and she insisted that her shop was not responsible for the burns in my dress. She said it was 'impossible' for her iron to burn my dress. I continuously told her that herself and Marisol were the only ones who had any heat, tools or products near my dress. She suggested that perhaps I went home and ironed my dress. She then offered to set an appointment to take a look at my dress the following morning. The morning on September 5th, my mother and I arrived at Bowties Bridal Boutique to have Ivanna look at my dress and it immediately started off wrong. Ivanna insisted by showing me her iron (which more than likely was off or on a low setting) could not possibly burn the floor model of my dress. We asked her would she fix my dress and she said absolutely not. She yelled and argued with me about how they did not ruin my dress & that my mother must have ironed my dress. She all so insisted that instead of them canceling my request for a custom order that I cancelled it myself. After debating back and forth for 30 minutes, Ivanna told my mother and I to get the F#$% out of her store. Outraged, of course we left. Bowties Bridal Boutique has an array of beautiful dresses. Please, do not let them alter, steam or press your dress. They will ruin ur one of a kind, beautiful dress. The owner is completely unprofessional and has no care or concern for the most important day of her clients life.
