Ah yes, Carnaval. Shut the place down on back to back nights and had a blast. I can't remember the DJ's name, but he had a pretty good mix going on when the bands weren't playing. I think it was the same guy the nights of 8/19 and 8/20; however, I could be wrong. And to the chick from Dayton, give me back my 50th anniversary Starboard coozie!
I definitely remember Mr. $ Mrs. Smith who was the band that played on Saturday night, and they were fuggin awesome. Very energetic and cranked out lots of radio hits and 90's g-funk rap.
They have "free shots" every now and then at the bar which actually cost $5. A bartender stands up on the bar and pours directly into your mouth until you say stop or he thinks you've had enough. The buckets of beer are clutch since it'll save you some trips to the bar. You can just put them on the edge of the stage. We must have had 5 or 6 at a time lined up. My tabs were pretty ugly both nights, but there was a large group of us, and we drink like fish.
It's a covered open air area which reminds of the old Bohager's in Baltimore if anyone remembers that. The one drawback is there aren't any bathrooms inside, so you have to leave and go into the Harrah's bathroom closest to the piano bar.
