  • Schmaltz definitely has the best lox in the city. It's also beautiful and cool in there (they transformed an old pharmacy into a smoked salmon haven). They also serve coffee in those cups you get at New York bodegas. You know the ones? With the blue and white greek design. Classic! Yes, it's definitely expensive. Yes, I had a little panni attack when I realized my bagel and coffee was 15 bucks. And yes they treat you poorly like any deli worker does. But just the right amount! It's all part of the authentic, delicious and abusive experience of eating at a good ol' fashion deli. You have to try Schmaltz!
