Had a great one-night stay here prior to a conference over at the Renaissance. Typical funky, colorful Kimpton decor throughout the lobby and the rooms. Loved the chandelier with trailing vines over the reception area. Friendly, efficient check-in, swift elevators, good-sized rooms and comfortable bed. My room had a birdcage light fixture next to the bed and a penguin lamp on the desk. Everything in the room felt fresh and clean; no worn textiles or anything. The mix of colors and patterns is as far as you can get from a boring beige hotel room. The Commoner restaurant has a great bar program and one of the best salads I've ever had (with extra-pungent bleu cheese and tons of cashews) and tasty duck drumettes. Overall, there's not a thing I could find to complain about unless you're a view freak. (This is the wrong side of downtown for much in the way of view.)
