  • Since I moved to Pittsburgh, I was on the hunt for a good salon/stylist. After about 3 years of trial and error- I finally found it! When you walk into Motive it's welcoming, with really cool lighting and decorations. Chelsea has done my cut and color (balayage) a couple times. She first sits down with you and listens to what you want and is there to offer advice. My hair has been exactly what I was looking for every time I walk out of there. I also have had Jamie do my makeup and Sam style my hair for engagement photos and I had so many compliments on them. For someone who has never had makeup professionally done, Jamie really knows how to accentuate your features and make you feel beautiful. Sam and Jamie both worked well together - hair first, then makeup, then hair touchup. My only word of caution is make sure you leave plenty of time for your appointment. Because of all the care that they take for clients, one occasionally will run over, causing your appointment to be slightly delayed. Overall, Motive is fantastic, and they really did a great job starting a salon that truly cares about their clients.
