Ok yeah I don't like country AT ALL. But there is something different about being at an actual bar, immersed in the 'culture'. Something about seeing all cowboy hats, line dancing and drunk girls flying off the mechanical bull that makes all so bearable.. almost enjoyable.
Stoney's recently moved from their massive location in some random strip mall into Town Square. The new location is a little smaller, but it all fits together much better. There is a massive dance floor for line dancing, a clothing/gift shop, and of course - a mechanical bull for people to ride and thrown from.
Yes the music is country. well most of it anyways. They play a few hip-hop tracks at the top of the hour and when they do, everyone rushes on to the floor, an exodus ensues when they switch back to bluegrass (yuck). Pretty wide range crowed, there are alot of young and old people - almost feels like being at a family event. Drinks are average for a tourist place - Beers/mixed drinks are around $7-10, kind of over priced but expect it.
Overall is a fun experience, defintely worth checking out if your in the area.
