| - I echo Sean B.'s review. As a longtime boutique-glasses shopper (Spex on State St., Ulla for years since), I was eager to see what Eyeopia might offer beyond other options in town. I entered the store on Atwood and began to browse, trying on some of the frames that appealed to me as the woman behind the counter chatted away with a friend/customer. She finally seemed to suddenly notice I was in the store when she raced over to chide me, in front of the other customer/friend/whomever, for handling the glasses, telling me that at _this_ store, the staff select frames for customers that they think they should try on, and customers do not touch or, frankly, opine at the first pass.
I've been wearing and handling fine glasses for two decades, so I decided to take a pass on the rather ridiculously silly non-service and headed over to Ulla, where (Sean B., listen up!) trying on and handling glasses, even taking your own photo with them, seems to be no problem at all, and certainly doesn't mean that a lower level of service is offered. I dropped $500 on a lovely pair of SALT frames there and haven't looked back at Eyeopia since.
By the way, by all accounts, LA Eyeworks and other lines I noticed they carried, before being scolded out of the shop, are notoriously poor quality and other shops I know well do not carry those lines for a reason.
