| - Wow, this place is outstanding!
Ride by here daily on my way home from work (favorite Strava segment!), and it's always steadily busy. Perfect striking distance from our house, so we stopped in for lunch last Sunday.
Service was fantastic. Sat at the bar, and both bartenders were on top of it. Very friendly, patient and incredibly attentive. Never did a drink go dry, and we were even brought hot towels for clean up after annihilating some wings, without asking. You can tell when a restaurant puts an emphasis on training and service, and this crew was top notch. I'll have to see if they maintain that level of service when it's busier.
Food was really good, and came out pretty quick. Ordered a pizza, wings and a burger. Wings were absolutely perfect, best I've had in years. Tender, slightly crisp skin, and covered with just the right amount of quality sauce. No slick of red oil goo here. Pizza was very good. I'm very picky about pizza, but they do an exceptional job here. Crust was about the perfect thickness, not chewy at all, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Really good sauce, great cheese and awesome pepperoni. Reasonably sized and reasonably priced. Home run. The burger was fine, but I wouldn't order it again. It was a bit past medium, lacked flavor, and had a lot of stuff going on topping-wise, making it hard to eat. Certainly not bad, but forgettable. Fries were really good, however.
I'm not a hipster, but I do ride pretty much everywhere. Great to see good bike parking under the water tower. Overall vibe of the place is very interesting; lots of high quality work went into the construction and design. The bathrooms were really cool; lots of 1920's era touches that reminded me of some of the very old buildings/restaurants/train stations in KC or LA.
We will definitely be back, and I'm excited for the other plans they have for The Orchard. Really a cool place, lucky it's so close.
