I am highly familiar with pain management practices. I have been in treatment for advanced DDD for over 5 years along with advanced arthritis. To my great dismay due to changes in my insurance I could no see my doctor of 5 years. I was referred to this practice by my PCP as my insurance has greatly limited the choices of a pain management practice. Reviews I read were horrible, but I gave them benefit of the doubt due some of the reasons for the poor reviews. I arrived 30 minutes prior to appointment as advised to do. I was call back for my 1030 appt at 1010 no time to fill out new patient paperwork. MA started rapidly sounding off my current meds to me (they had received part of my patient history prior to visit) I had to tell her to slow down as I pulled my medication card to verify information was correct (some was not) taken quickly to another room when Dr Shipon arrived, sat down and there was no dialog, again my patient hx was being rapidly barked at me. I had to stop her almost rudely so I could interject. She told me I was on wrong medications, asked if I was seeing a neurologist, had me walk on my heels tippy toes, did basic push me pull me exam and walked out of the room. MA came in with cup for drug test. Finished that went back to room, trying to finish ppwk, was told appointment was over. I asked what about procedures? Where do you do them etc? Medications what is that plan? What is the plan of care for me? "We don't do that until your next appointment in 4 weeks" I explained I was past due for my sacral radio frequency ablations and I would run out of medication before that. "Call your previous doctor."
I went to check out none of my ppwk was completed, the receptionist made an appointment for 4 weeks, and I walked out wondering what planet I was on.
