| - Great place for a lively atmosphere, great interior design, great beer, and good food. Considering Ive never had any of their beers, I got a flight of all their drafts (highly recommend doing this). Out of the 8 they give you, my favorites were the Raj IPA, Oatmeal Stout, Sunbru, and the Peach. The Peach had this great, fruity flavor that felt like I was drinking straight peach juice! One of my favorite beers while in town. If fruity beers are your thing, get the peach. The other beers I mentioned are worth getting on their own just as well. Everything else I had is not really my thing and others will probably like it. The White Ale though is super disgusting. It tastes like someone spilled cleaning supplies into the mix and apathetically continued with their job.
Food wise, I got the nachos based on how much accolades it received. They were good, but I dont think they were worth the hype. I think the King Kong nachos at Chaco's in San Antonio are still the best Ive had. The nachos have a good amount of cheese and the chips are good, but there's nothing about it that makes me go wow. The veggies come on the side in a bowl thats mostly soupy black beans. The blackened chicken was decent, but certainly not something to call the local butcher about. The quesadillas are pretty plain. It required copious amounts of sour cream and salsa. The lamb burger totally took me by surprise! That thing was actually quite delicious! They cooked the ground lamb just right and all the flavors blended well. The fries were good, but still nothing that are super special.
The nachos were what I really came for. What I found was a handful of amazing beers I wish were readily available at home. I know there is some backlash to this establishment after busch-anheiser bought them out, but unless the corporate takeover degrades the quality, Id say squeeze in for a treat.
