I am updating my review: After posting, Christina had reached out to us in hopes that I would delete the review. When she realized that i was not going to she had recruited all these other residents to post within the last few days to boost her ratings up again. the reason i will not delete my review is because this was our experience. Each resident has their own experience, and unfortunately this was ours. The purpose of yelp is to give your honest opinion for those interested in the business. In response to Renita.. if your loved one was imogene i find that review to be very untrue. The day we moved my grandmother out her words to my grandmother was that she was glad to see her go to a better place because she said chateau amore was dead. I am sorry that I never had the chance to encounter you at the same time you were visiting but that does not mean we did not visit. I worked right down the street from the house and visited quite often and my parents visited regularly. Your assumptions that we did not visit can be disregarded because you can not make a comment based off of what you do not know. This is now turning into a bashing match that is un-necessary. My review is my review and I'm very happy other residents had the opposite experience. But i will mention again, that this place was not for my grandmother as she is a lively and outgoing personality and did not match with the residents in poor health that are bed-ridden.
If you care about your loved ones, do not move them here. We moved my grandma in about 10 months ago and today very happy to say we moved her out! From day one I never had a good vibe about the owner, Christina (a previous case worker), but my grandmother needed a place to go recovering from a stroke and my mom seemed to really like the place. The first few months were fine but then it changed. Every time I went to visit the place seemed dead. They do not interact with the residents despite what they advertise. My grandmothers room was always dirty- they never empty her trash full of diapers. They wash the laundry and place it on the bed expecting the elderly in walkers and wheelchairs to put their own clothes away. Within the 10 months of her living there they managed to lose practically all of her clothes because they mix up laundry between residents instead of washing separately like they should be. Several residents passed away while she stayed there and i'm sure partly due to the lack of care received by the caregivers. They try to push you into using their pharmacy but it's cheaper to fill through Walmart. Caregivers failed to mention that she was out of a certain RX and expected it right away once they realized their mistake. We had my grandma placed on medicaid to help offset the cost of rent. Christina was to pay us backpay for the months she was deemed eligible. Took forever for her to figure out basic math that we had already done for her. She just used excuse after excuse as to why she couldn't pay us the money she owed us... but the best one was that she was going through the end of her engagement. I myself have gone through the same thing.. but guess what? you own a group home.. you better not use your personal life as an excuse. Icing on the cake was when my mom confronted Christina in regards to all of our complaints, including my grandma running out of her medication that could possibly send her back into another stroke, her response was that my grandma is rude to other residents and she would like for her to move out. Now keep in mind my grandma is 91 years old with dementia yet perfectly alert and active. She isn't used to living in a home and certainly not with people who are on their death beds. She didn't get why other residents were not as talkative as her or on the same health level as her. All of the healthier residents who have stayed there have also left. We truly feel as if she is running a hospice not a group home. If the resident is not confined to their beds and sick.. Christina doesn't want them in the home. I will be reporting her to the BBB. Group homes are supposed to be safe and a place that ensures your loved ones get taken care of. Not a place where you have to sit at home and wonder if she's being taken care of properly every day and night. So sad.
