  • Just a quick precursor to this review: I've been a casual fan of The Raps since their first game. However, I gave up season tickets when Chris Bosh left and have never looked back because I need name brand players not Linas Kleiza. So anyways, after quickly coming to terms with The Leafs prolonged 18 car pile up (Video embedded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20ek-TWjjns ) known as the 2013-2014 NHL Season I decided to see what The Raptors were up to and possibly accept them back into my life. To my surprise not only were The Raptors still playing basketball in the NBA but they were actually doing quite well (in what will go down as the least competitive conference in sports history). So once I found out all this stuff I decided to watch today's game. According to our opponents jerseys my now beloved Raps would be playing The "Motor City Pistons". I don't remember this team existing back when I used to watch basketball but I guess since this time The NBA has considerably expanded its' reach and have gone international. The only thing I found confusing was that when I consulted my bedroom globe Motor City was nowhere to be found. Perhaps this was a late season exhibition game against some Euro Team? Either way The Raptors gave The Motor City Pistons an absolute shit kicking in the first quarter scoring 42 points and going up by roughly 18 points. However, it's a good thing I kept watching because Tim Leiweke's vision of MLSE is alive and well. By the time there was 3 minutes left in the 4th The Raptors would be down by 3. It's nice to know that somethings never change because with 2 minutes left it was great seeing The Raptors take an absolutely horrible 3 point shot while up by 1 (a play they have been employing since 1999 and that was made famous of Andrea Bargnani). It's amazing that no matter who the personnel or staff are The Toronto Raptors will always take amazingly risky and useless shots in close situations when the 29 other teams in the NBA would drive for the foul. Now, I don't know what basketball players do at the end of the season, (Perhaps they go golfing with The Leafs?) but I cannot wait for The Raptors to get swept in the first round of the playoffs by Brooklyn so that we can all go back to focusing on the important things: our sad meaningless lives.
