  • Beware if you have food allergies. Having Celiac Disease is not an option. Medically, I HAVE to eat Gluten Free. There are some great restaurants in Charlotte who offer 'GF' options and I figured I would give Loco Lime a shot. I ordered the Chopped Chicken Mexican Salad, without Flour Tips and opted for Balsamic Vinaigrette. When the salad came out, it was surrounded with Flour Tips and the wrong dressing oozing over the side of the cup onto my salad. I sent it back and informed the waitress. When the salad came back, everything looked and especially tasted great! Then it happened. As I went in for my last bit I scraped the rest of the salad onto my fork and there sticking to the bottom of my dish, hidden under my lettuce was a FLOUR TIP!!! WTF?!?!??!?!!? Seriously!!!! I'm not one to gripe, but if you're gonna walk in the back, pluck the Flour Tips off and say you remade the salad and that it's now gluten free, at least cover your tracks a little better. Sure, they comp'd my meal and gave me a gift card which was appreciated. It would have been much worse for Loco Lime had this been a Shellfish or Nut allergy where the afflicted person's airway closes when they become cross contaminated. I can assure you this was the last time I eat at Loco Lime. Lastly, I'm not sure where they read that rice contains gluten. I'd like to see where they get there information. If it weren't for the service, it would have received 1 star.
