  • We got married at the Neon Museum and it was so memorable. There is a special fenced portion of the museum that is dedicated to weddings and events. I planned our wedding from out-of-state and found the constant price and policy changes to be a bit frustrating. I think they were working out some kinks. When we arrived in Las Vegas and visited the venue the day before the wedding (all of this wedding stuff was planned sight unseen), we were pleased with how accommodating and polite the staff were. They opened up the locked and fenced area so we could roam around and visualize how we wanted our ceremony to look. We never felt rushed or pressured. One minor downer was that the dedicated event space has no electricity and with our wedding set at dusk we had hoped for some pictures with neon and sign lights. My husband was able to work out a very fast photo session in the main Neon Museum gallery with lights and all, so our wedding wishes did indeed come true in the end. The bigger bummer--and one that could be corrected--was the wedding minister. The Neon Museum requires that you use their selected vendor Elegant Vegas Weddings for wedding officiating and we were not that happy with the officiant. She had barely read the simple script we wrote and emailed to her a week in advance. She couldn't complete sentences, pronounce words or read full sentences..she had a strange habit of stopping at the end of a line like she was reading a poem, rather than stopping at a punctuation mark. She read aloud the instructions we put in parentheses, like, "Groom places ring on Bride's Finger." She never bothered to to call with questions about about any of it ahead of time. She never suggested another type of ceremony. There wasn't a discussion or contact before our wedding expect for a few emails where we were told that they were very busy with weddings and vaguely assured that everything was under control and would be fine. I would like to see the museum look into other vendors. Overall, though, the Neon Museum still gets 4 stars. These speed bumps didn't turn me into a Bridezilla. It was a quirky and offbeat place for a wedding and our guests thought it was absolutely cool and fun. It was the perfect space for our 50 guests. They had a great time taking their own photos among the colorful signage. They dressed up accordingly to match the retro old-school vibe. They were pretty amazed with the venue when they walked in and didn't mind standing for the short 20 minute ceremony. I was able to still make a surprise entrance and do that bridal walk down the aisle because of the way the signs are laid out. We were very happy with our decision to choose the Neon Museum as the setting for the most important day of our lives.
