After staying at the MGM and then the Venetian (in that order) on several different occasions, I give the Palms 3 stars.
The bar was set too high with the other hotels/ resorts. First off, I booked the room at the 11th hour literally through a third party website. NEVER AGAIN! they charged me for my 4 night stay up front. The problem with that was, I couldn't get a refund to then go to another hotel. Once I get to Vegas to check in, they hit you with a resort charge on top of what I already paid.
RESORT CHARGE... this dont look like no damn resort to me. The buffet was average. The rooms were just ok. No real view from my window. The gym was small. I mean it was underwhelming for the amount I paid to stay here for 4 days.
I did like the proximity to the conference I had directly across the street. Also, they have a movie theater attached to this "resort"/hotel. $5 Monday movie night was clutch. There was also a shuttle that ran every 30 minutes to the strip for free. They better, as far as this place is!
I guess the pool parties are lit here during the summer. But it was cold when I came so I didn't even get to experience that! Wont be staying here again.
