| - I've had Platinum home warranty for years. First as a resident of Scottsdale and presently as a condo owner in Phoenix. Since I now live in California, I decided to sell my condo, upon inspection it was found that my A/C was not working properly and was leaking. I called Platinum to check it out. Let me just clarify one thing, even in my house in Scottsdale, anytime it involved A/C, Platinum gave me a hard time. Having said this, Platinum replaced the Capacitor and added Freon, but the leak persisted. Their supervisor came and said there was no leak, even though the mat was soaked and the wood corroded so much that I had to have a mold test. The end result was that I had to get an outside company to fix it. It cost me $928 because I needed it done immediately to pass inspection and I also wanted it done correctly. It turns out that the condensate pan had a crack down the center. The A/C man said that this had been there for years and should have been corrected. The mold inspection cost $525. My point is that I don't think Platinum's A/C could have repaired the problem adequately. Moreover, I don't think they wanted to bother. I did get a call from their customer service department. I thought they would at least offer to extend my home warranty at no cost. Instead, they offered me a free pizza coupon at the local restaurant. So before you hook up with them, read this review.
