  • I can't believe that I haven't written a review on this wonderful establishment. Every time I have mainland family visiting, a stop at this restaurant is a must. In Nov 2014, I think I spent over $200 visiting this restaurant because of all the family we had visiting. I have been coming to this restaurant for the past four years, before I even moved to Vegas. Two reasons why: 1. I'm a noodle head and they have really good fried noodles. Noodles like I used to get from the manapua truck when I was a kid but with more char sui, spam and kamaboko 2. The POKE deli in the back. As far as I know, this is the only restaurant that has this, similar to all the supermarkets from HI. You can sample some of the different pokes they have. You even can choose to get a 1/4 lb of poke. This allows you to get all kinds of poke to taste! And honestly, I would say that this is the original poke restaurant in Las Vegas. Although poke is the current trend in Las Vegas and all these poke bowl restaurants are opening up. If you want authentic, original Hawaiian style poke, come here. Forget the rice and all the vegetables and load up on poke. Before I forget, the poke counter closes early than the restaurant, at 8pm. One of my family favorites, malasadas. When you visit this restaurant, be sure to put your order in asap as it does take time to fry up these bad boys. Try the different filled flavors. Be sure you leave room for these delights at the end of your meal as it is best when it is fresh. And they did renovate the "carry out" portion of the restaurant. When I visited the restaurant last week, my family of 12 got there as soon as they opened up. We were able to take up two rows of tables with plenty of room for other patrons. Because this is an extremely popular restaurant for the "9th Islanders", it is important that you plan ahead. Lunch, dinner and weekends, this place is poppin'.
