| - It's sad to think that this will be one of the last reviews of the Hacienda, as it is being bought by Dotty's and converted into the Hoover Dam Lodge beginning sometime in late December. Probably for the better.
I visit my family in Boulder City as often as I can. I love coming home to the tranquility of my home, mom's cooking, and playing with the dog. I love going to The Strip and Downtown LV, but the 60 mile round-trip adds up, and it's more worrisome getting wasted and having to drive.
The Hacienda has seen better days. It has seen better days since 1999 when it first opened. When Obi-Wan Kenobi described Mos Eisley as being "a wretched hive of scum and villainy," he was actually referring to the Hacienda. The guy to your left might have TB, and the wench to your right might throw up on the table. I've seen both. I have never slept in the rooms or eaten in any of the outlets--I don't like the odds.
Having said that, I love the Hacienda. Table minimums are usually low, drink service is quick, and I don't worry about money when I'm there. I can gamble for hours and hours at open tables and if I lost any money (unlikely), I chalk it up as an entertainment expenditure. I have FUN here!
