  • Fiamma is an expensive place. A part of me wants to give them 4 stars simply because they are really priced so high, but for Vegas the prices aren't too far away from the other nice restaurants' pricing, and if you can get their "Taste" menu, it's actually a pretty good deal, especially considering the quality you get. Thus we stick with 5 stars. :] Fiamma has everything they do down perfectly. My husband had the "Winter Tasting Menu" which gave him the Insalata (mixed baby lettuce, green apples, toasted pistachios, white balsamic), Brasato ("Piemontese" braised beef short rib, caramelized root vegetables, potato puree), and Tartufo for dessert (dolce di latte gelato, caramelized hazelnuts, warm valrhona chocolate sauce) all for $45. That was actually a heck of a deal, and ALL of the food was incredible. The salad was fresh and light with enough dressing to add taste without creating soggy lettuce. The braised short ribs fell right off the bone, were a perfect pink on the inside, and had the perfect amount of juiciness and incredible flavor. The dessert was lovely in its presentation and flavor -- a solidly impressive and tasty three courses! I had the Raviolini (short rib ravioli, barbera wine, melted butter, black truffle) which was a relatively small portion, but was loaded with flavor. The sauce was rich and light (if you can even imagine that!) and complemented the ravioli itself well. I want to venture a guess that the pasta itself was homemade. I have an Italian aunt who only cooks with pasta she makes herself and that's what this was like. YUM. Our friends at the table also enjoyed the Taste menu as well as the Linguini (sautéed shrimp, scallops, crispy shallots, cortese wine), which was reportedly quite good. The wine prices are pretty high, even by the glass. If you like whites, they have some affordable options, but the reds start significantly higher and were frankly more than I am willing to pay for a low-end (entry level) bottle/glass. Ambiance is nice -- dimly lit, mainly candle light, comfortable booths, etc. It sucks to be able to smell the cigarette smoke from people outside the restaurant, but that's Vegas for you. Service was excellent... as it should be since you're really paying enough to deserve it! Overall, if you're looking for a nice meal in Vegas, this place won't disappoint you!
