| - Ponderosa Stables has been my go-to spot for horseback riding for the past decade. And while I don't come here often enough, every ride is a memorable treat.
Saturday was the second time we've gone to Ponderosa to celebrate a birthday. Without a doubt, it was also one of the most fun and entertaining rides. The weather was a bit chilly for me, but otherwise wonderful. The horses were fresh and well behaved. The views were just as spectacular as ever. And the breakfast afterwards was delicious (but how can you mess up bacon?).
Ponderosa was wonderful during the process of setting up a reservation. After initially reserving spots for seven of us, I received a text two days later adding another five. Two days before the ride, another friend contacted me to be added to the list. Then he added another rider. Honestly, I thought Ponderosa would think me daffy for all the changes I'd made up until the day prior, but they were terrifically professional and wonderfully accommodating for one of our riders who's visually impaired. On top of that, their prices seem crazy cheap.
By the time breakfast was finished and we'd sung Happy Birthday to Allen, we decided that more frequent rides were in our future. I can't wait to get back on the saddle! [Although, I must admit, my tush was sore for the rest of the weekend. Guess I need more padding?]
