  • Was very excited to try this place after seeing so many great pictures on Instagram and Yelp. Finally made it out to Henderson to check it out. My boyfriend and I walk in on a Monday afternoon around 3pm (they were closing at 4pm) and neither of the employees (one male, one female) look up or even greet us. As everyone has mentioned, this place is small and there was no one in line when we walked in, just a few people sitting down already having coffee. So it's pretty obvious when people walk in since the counter is right in front of the entrance. The man says to us ( without looking up) "do you know what you want?" Not "have you been here before?", "can I answer any questions?" Nothing. Maybe they've already mentally checked out since it was a whole hour away from closing time. I've been to coffee shops before that don't offer your run of the mill overly sugared lattes and "blended coffee" and that have a very straightforward menu; places like blue bottle in San Francisco or intellegentsia in LA. So I am familiar and respect coffee houses that want to highlight their beans and blends and serve it just the way it's meant to be enjoyed. A bit annoyed at our first impression, we order from the woman who was behind the counter since the man had completely checked out. We order a mocha, a latte, and a berry scone with a citrus glaze. Service was very cold, pretentious, curt, and indifferent. Very "well you can order or not, we don't really care" sort of vibe. Coffees were made in a timely manner. The place, although small, was very nicely decorated. Modern accents, subway tile, wood accents and minimal design. Very aesthetically pleasing. The vibe and decor were pretty excellent. Neither of us knew about the coffee we were drinking so I'm just judging from the taste. The latte was good and the mocha was ok. The scone was dry. I, by no means live close to mothership coffee so it was quite a drive for us. We specifically drove out to Henderson to try it out. Very disappointed. At least there was a trader joes next door to make the trip worth it. I'll stick to my standbys of Leone cafe, sambalatte, and makers and finders. Friendly, inviting and informative staff, great coffee and appreciative of your business. And in case you were wondering, we weren't greeted or thanked on our way out either. Oh well. Lots of new coffee spots popping up in Vegas so on to the next one....
