| - This is a great hospital with absolutely fantastic nurses and support personnel, but then it is down hill.
Since my Cardiologist only uses this hospital, I had no other choices.
I owe them money and they owe me a credit, for more than a year I try to solve the issues by asking for a proper bill that reflects all the charges.
The last three times I was there, they charged me (Insurance) for "Pharmacy" one time about $800,00. I never took anything different than what I take at home, at my cost of about $ 8.00
Last two times the same thing, overnight stay $700.00 and a 9 hour stay they charged
$ 400.00. On both occasions, I did not even take an Aspirin. I asked several times for an explanation.
I was charged a deductible for two "Doctors Visits" at $ 30.00. for a Doctor I never saw!
I went to the hospital to speak to an Accounting Rep, not realizing, they have an offsite Accounting Dept somewhere in Mesa.
I called a number and explained to the person about my issues, and was told, we will investigate and someone will call back in the next 48 hours. 8 days later, I missed a call by Diane, and right away I called back and left a message. For three weeks I called and left messages. They never had the courtesy of a response.
I complained bitterly about this at the hospital on my last stay, and a gentleman from Accounting called, promising to look into this situation, but it will be about two weeks before I have an answer. Well ---- this is now almost two months ago, and I'm still waiting.
I must say, the people I spoke to were very good in apologizing.
Oh, I'm very sorry this happen !!
I would like to have answers about the outrageous "Pharmacy" charges for something I have never taken, and consider fraud.
After my last stay in September, I received a bill for $175.00. Of course it does not show that I paid $ 150.00 when I checked in to the hospital, and yes, there is a charge for "Pharmacy" again for $ 421. 00 and again, I did NOT even take an Aspirin.
For a 9 hour stay , the total bill is somewhere around 24 thousand.
All this and trying to straighten out this issue and pay what I owe them makes me a candidate for another Cardiac procedure, and I don't want to go to Banner anymore, just because of the questionable billing and charges.
A discouraged patient.
