This saddens me to write this review. When this location at Yonge and Wellesley first opened this past fall, they sure didn't disappoint: they had a fun menu that delivered both visual stimulation, and great taste. The staff were always very friendly, and the funnel cakes they made were consistently (they tasted the same regardless who made it). They really knew and understood what ratios of batter vs. Ice cream vs toppings/sauce to use to make the dessert taste great (in particular there was a gentleman who had longer dark brown hair that was often in a low ponytail. Sadly we haven't seen him in n a while).
Lately we have been very disappointed in the quality of funnel cakes. The batter is so thick and dense. This makes the funnel cake part like a thick, greasy hard cake. Speaking of grease... tonight's funnel cake was SATURATED in oil. Once the sweetness dissipated slightly, the taste of oil was overpowering. We got ours as take out. We only live 5 min away. It looked disgusting!! Slightly resembling something someone vomited... semi digested food.
As mentioned at the beginning of this review, this place USED to be great... but the quality has taken a serious plunge to the dirt. We have been disappointed the last 4 or 5 times we have gone. Please bring it back the way it used to be!!! see pictures to see the dense batter and the saturation of grease.
