Ive been a member of costco since 2009 amd last year i got an amazing deal on living social for 55 i got a 20 gift card 90 batteries a free large pizza and some other free food items, well today i drove to costco which is about 20 minutes from my house did my shopping and when i got to the register they said my total was 118.00 for 5 items i asked the cashier why is it so much she said 55 of it was to renew my membership i had no idea my membership had expired and i asked the cashier when did it expire she said the end of Feb which is basically 10 days ago. I told them i did not want to renew it today because i would like to look online at living social groupn etc and look and see if they had any deals a man came over and said no thats only for new members and when i told him really because last year i wasnt a new member and i got the deal then his response well if u dont renew ypur membership today then u cant purchase your items i was like are u serious i didnt even know it was expired and he said we mail out a renewal 60 days prior so u knew it was expired... REALLY??? Im pretty sure had i known it was expired i wouldnt have drive 20 mins there and i would have researched an online for a deal ahead of time. I was told oh well renew your or u cant purchase the items in my cart i told them fine keep them items and my card and throw it in the trash because i will NEVER renew a COSTCO card again! This is not good customer service and they could have let me made my 5 items purchase and told me to make sure to renew before i come back again but nope i was treated like S++t and left so mad. My advice to everyone is to go somewehere else Sams club is right up the street!!! My husband has a business account and i will let him know to NEVER renew his either!!!
