  • Rod Daly in Finance (sp?) is one of the rudest individuals I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with and he should be fired. Check out this unbelievable nonsense I just had to deal with: -I purchased a 2010 malibu in May 2012. It was certified pre-owned, and I purchased a 5 year, 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty. It had ~30K miles on it. -As of Mar 2017, it has 57K miles on it. It has barely been driven and has been taken very good care of. -In Mar 2017, the transmission completely died and needed to be rebuilt. I took it to Van Chevrolet for service and they informed me that the warranty had expired in Nov 2015. When I inquired how that expiration date was relevant, they informed me the warranty I purchased began when the car was made, NOT when I bought it. In other words, the warranty I bought was already 3.5 years into its 5 years. -So I speak to buttercup Rod Daly, who has the professionalism of toddler having a tantrum. I ask him how in the world is it that they sold me a 5 year warranty that was 3.5 years used without disclosing it? I asked him why wouldn't he have been transparent with me when I bought it? He literally said that he doesn't need to be transparent. I asked him for a copy of my paperwork, and he said it was kept off site and they couldn't retrieve it. -I then tell him that it's apparent I was sold a false bill of goods. I told him I had been loyal to the dealer and brought it there, and asked that they waive the transmission replacement cost, not only b/c the warranty debacle, but b/c the car is arguably a lemon if the transmission is dead at 57K miles. -Rod says the only way he can help me is to sell me a new car, and trade in the malibu for the value it would have with a working transmission. To this, I responded that there was no way I would buy a car again based on the warranty charade they pulled. -He responded saying that he doesn't need to be loyal to me if I'm not loyal to them by buying a new car. -It took everything in my power to keep from going nuts in their offices, and instead I shook his hand and left. -$3,600 later having gotten the transmission built by another shop, I get a call today from a warranty renewal company telling me that my warranty just expired. Imagine that - 5 YEARS FROM WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. These guys are scumbags. Do not buy a car from them.
