| - Went back to Dr Wu at Bright Smiles to replace 2 old fillings with resin. Since they were superficial, I asked Dr if i could forego the lidocaine numbing treatment as it tends to make me shaky afterwords. I waited while she thoughtfully looked at the x-rays to assess how deep she would have to drill. She said, they're not that deep, but i'll go slow and stop me if you feel ANY pain at all and we'll remedy that. Away she went and nearing the end of removing the old filling, I started to feel. She said 20 seconds more & it will be done. I endured it and it was fine. She said GREAT JOB LORI !!! I got a gold star from my dentist! I know, most of you reading this profile would say, if she f*** crazy? no pain meds? The truth of the matter, is that the whole procedure took less than 8 minutes from chair to checkout and the novacaine stood standby anytime i asked for it. i didn't want to drool from numbness for the next 2 hrs so it worked out great. I paid my bill (already knew what my out-of-pocket would be immediately) which allowed me to sail out & be on my way. For those of you in a time-crunch & not keen on dentist visits, my experience is that Bright Smiles doesn't prolong the ordeal. They have auths ready, treatment ready to get you in and out.
Big Con this time: Just like last time, room lacked working TV and any array of distracting magazines while you're waiting. Sorry, don't want to read pamphlets about scaling & deplaning and rotting teeth. Give me some music or tv to distract from the impending oral treatment. Please fix the cable.
