  • This is actually a negative star review. The service Cox Communications provides is absolutely terrible! We have been tossed around from various sales reps, service "specialist" and 4 technicians visit our home. We have "highspeed" internet set up through Cox and it's a joke. Our plan started off at 50mbps and everything was working fine even with multiple streaming. We were sold on a 150mbps super deal that the sales rep said would lock in our price and triple our service speed for the next year... Since January 2017 we have fought with agents, techs and managers trying to get a straight answer but they mostly tell us to just buy more stuff from Cox. Luckily we have worked with a few honest, rogue agents that have shared the cold truth. The router we were told was broken, old, not supported or cheap is actually just fine because it's on the approved list for speeds up to 300 Mbps... We were also told it's our wifi routers fault since it's not a Cox wifi router it doesn't, "speak the same language" as one sale rep so eloquently put it. Once I explained we have an Apple Airport Extream they changed course and tried to sell us a faster speed internet package... Over the past week, we have spoken to 4 reps and one technician yet we are still only getting 1-5mbps out of our 100mbps internet package. Oh, I forgot to mention one rep said they were switching our account from 150 to 100 because the 150 was too powerful for our area to handle... Can someone for Cox please do their job and fix this? Just because you are the only provider of the internet doesn't mean you have to lie and steal from your customers. We never had these issue with Time Warner Cable.
