I knew this would be an expensive meal before going. Overall 3 1/2 stars. We had 2 adults, 2 kids (6&8) and bill was $200 after tip. We had food plus pitcher of sangria and ginger ale for kids because that was the only drink served that was refillable. Also split 1 slice of chocolate mousse cake. With adjustments for drinks and kids meals(see below) this could easily be 4.5 stars and overall value worth the visit.
Food: 4 1/2 stars because the meats are amazing, salad bar alone is a mEal and quite impressive. The meat comes with two cinnamon sugar plantains and mashed potatoes. There is jasmine rice, wine portobello shrooms etc on buffet to compliment the meat course. Kids enjoy the salad bar so if we went again I wouldn't waste the meat on them. Stick to salad bar for kids as there's bacon, shrimp, salmon, cold cuts, vegetables, rice, fruit for them. You can save money this way. Older kids however would enjoy the meat. Only downside is beef served med-rare. We specially requested med-well and I felt the beef/ lamb cuts were not as good quality. They had more fat on them. Also the lobster bisque had zero lobster in it. It was like a sherry lobster favored broth which was disappointing.
Drinks: 1 star. Way too expensive. I enjoy wine but the markups here are 3x or more for a bottle. Rex Goliath is 10-12$ and it was priced at $39. In stead we got a pitcher of sangria which had no alcohol whatsoever. For $29 it was like an expensive fruit filled pitcher of juice. Kids drinks aren't refillable except ginger ale. Stick to water while you're here. About 20% of the bill can be saved by sticking to water and drinks here are a rip-off.
Ambiance: 4.5 stars. Restaurant is well decorated, CLEAN (bathrooms and buffet were in top condition). Took away half star because the tables are a bit close for my taste and we had a stroller for a sleeping baby.
Service: 4 1/2 stars. Our waitress was great. She always had a clean plate for us and was very attentive. I took half star away because even when our cards were red the meat servers still kept coming by. They almost swarm your table which can be overwhelming a little bit trying to get your own meat and manage kids who need theirs cut up. That said you definitely get a full plate of great tasting meat. They also don't rush you out. Managers as well were on the floor the entire time making sure everything was running smoothly and asked everyone how the were enjoying their meals. Dirty Plates are quickly gathered and new ones magically appearing as well. This restaurant gets the importance of good service.
