| - So I switched from Sam's to Costco last month. So far I've been totally happy with their selections and prices. Not to mention they now carry high quality gas. This is a good company and they treat there employees well (from what I hear). Also the "business center" on MLK is great. They got all the good restaurant quality stuff too!
But when it comes to the Costco in Henderson, this place is a fail. Ok, I never made it past customer service. This place is BEYOND PACKED with people!!!
After playing what seemed like a scene out of Mad Max to try and get a parking spot, when I finally got inside, customer service was 10 deep! After about 20 minutes customer service helped me. As always they were pleasant and helpful. I wanted to shop, but looking at the lines inside, NO WAY!
Keep in mind this was a Friday afternoon, not even a weekend. Don't people work on Fridays anymore? I'd hate to see this place on a weekend. I thought while I was there I'd get gas. Yeah right. Again, every pump was 10 cars deep!
Also keep in mind I've had this same experience on another Friday afternoon. I will no longer attempt to go anywhere near this Costco. Ever.
So here's the point: I believe there are four Costcos in Las Vegas. There are like 100 Sam's Clubs. Costco, you think you could build maybe a couple more stores? There are NO Costcos in the southwest part of Las Vegas. You are basically forcing the entire city to go to 4 locations (3 if you consider the MLK location is closed Sunday).
That or you need a parking structure like the one at Disneyland. Along with the Mickey and Friends trailer to tram people back and fourth. Seriously you need a traffic cop in the parking lot, not to mention maybe the fire Marshall taking a head count with how many people are in that building at any one time.
Long story short: Costco, the economy bounced back. You guys can afford another store, maybe two in Las Vegas.
