  • This place is a mess from the top down. I have watched what used to be a high quality and reliable car wash fall victim to a high employee turnover rate and a downward spiral in management. The poor state of this car wash falls entirely on the ownership and management. They seem to hire mostly high school aged kids. It's tough for me to fault the kids for being smart enough to take advantage of an easy job and hang out in the parking lot with their friends since their boss isn't around most of the time to tell them to get to work. Also, the parking lot is absolutely filthy. I'm not sure if anyone at this car wash has ever heard of a broom. Earlier in the summer I was at the Rapid Wash when a guy had a tire on his truck pop from something he ran over on the premises. Hopefully that was a rare occurrence but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. There is always an issue at the Bethel Park Rapid Wash whether it is down for "maintenance" (which seems to happen quite often), they "accidentally" give you a lesser wash than you pay for (the attendants don't seem to care at all beyond unenthusiastically taking your money and pressing a button), or the employees are hiding in the office rather than spraying the dirt and bird droppings off of your car. The manager is usually nowhere to be found and when he is there all he does is try to sell customers on the overpriced unlimited packages rather than ensure any semblance of customer satisfaction. Just the other day I asked the workers why the brushes at the entrance of the wash hadn't been moving like they normally do to which the young man responded, "Those brushes haven't been working for weeks." Very reassuring for an $18 purchase! I'm really not asking for a lot out of a car wash other than getting what I pay for and my car to actually be dried rather than having water spots everywhere. But it does irk me quite a bit when I pay $18 and the chemicals clearly aren't being properly applied, if at all, a good portion of the time. I don't know what the deal is with their dryers because sometimes when I look at my car after I go through the wash the dryers get the job done fine and other times my car looks like I just drove through a monsoon. All in all, I'm at a point where I feel like I would be getting a better value car wash if I asked my wheelchair-bound grandmother to clean my car with a sponge and a hose rather than give the Bethel Park Rapid Wash another penny. However, I do love the idea their unlimited packages and hopefully I will be able to find a car wash that actually cleans my vehicle and offers something similar.
