Was coming here to leave my own review of the service department not knowing what others have said about their experiences. After reading their reviews I must say that I am shocked that Kia (Hyundai), Mitsubishi or Mazda would allow this to happen at a dealership and represent their brands.
Every time we brought our Kia in for service we also had similar issues arise. They would try to sell us things that we did not need. They were also not very easy going or polite. The final straw (and the reason we did not lease another Kia) came on our last oil change last month. My wife drove her car out of the bay and heard a strange clunking sound. She made it to the end of their property and got out to see what it was, she found a giant screw sticking out of her tire. She returns to the bay and the service manager looks at it and say's she must have ran over a screw and then tries to sell her a new tire. Furious that this happened on their watch in their garage she protests and the service manager agrees to pull the screw and fix it at no cost. Only after she got frustrated.
Had no issues with the sales department and we got a great deal on the car when we purchased it. Think that they need to overhaul the service department experience and take them off any sales quotas or commission structures they might be working off. Too bad as Kia makes some good and cheap vehicles but it was not worth it to us. Too much competition and great deals to be had.
UPDATE: all people who lease from KIA should expect to get hit with a BS $400 "Disposition Fee" when they turn in their lease. Handed back a mint condition Sorento and was told we were good to go. This bill arrived weeks later charging us $400. KIA claims they charge it to "take your vehicle back" and put into inventory. Yes, they charge you to accept their own property back. They would waive it if we bought a new KIA only (extortion). This item is sneaked in when you sign your lease agreement. Was never explained to us. BS charge. Be aware of it.
