  • Let me start with Jerry, our sales person at the Charleston office. Really a nice personal guy that has all the answers and will tell you everything that you would want to hear. From 3/8" grout tile spacers to having your baseboards removed and placed on top of your tile, since builders won't do such a thing. All the work is guaranteed if you let them do it. Everything thing went as to plan from ordering the tile and materials. But here's where you get fooled into believing you're getting what you want from the installer. Anthony has his crew come over after I had most of baseboards remove and a membrane rolled on for $900 to insure the tile to be guaranteed. But before doing that, I spent three days cleaning and scraping the floors of overspray and filthy dirt by using a buffer and a shop vac to clean it all off the concrete floor. I don't think they would have done a better job than this. As Tony's helpers are laying tile, noticed that in the closets where I didn't remove the baseboards from, thinking he would have the tile butt up against the boards. He says we use a router to cut the boards and slide the tile under the baseboard. Basically, he would have done it this way and I did the removal for nothing. Why couldn't Jerry tell me this ?? Now the grout sealer, that is mixed into the grout, was offered by the installer on the side but for $900 cash ?!? He uses 7 bottles, costing less than $30 per quart. How do you figure $900 when all you're doing is mixing the sealer instead of water ! Otherwise, you'll just have to seal it yourself, he says. In reality, water still soaks into the grout. Which means I'll still have to seal it on top again ! I asked Tony to come back out to fix my grout color since one part of the kitchen had a different color due to improper mixing of the grout. He says it looks good to me. Try scrubbing it more, he says ! And when placing my baseboards back on, I noticed the bathroom boards had a half inch gap. I asked him to take out the tile and redo it but his excuse was, "It was the builder's fault". Really?? So I had to chalk under it with a color to match the tile. I spoke to the owner about all this, but his concern was getting his other half of the payment. Having 30 years in the real estate business, only tells me NOT to use these guys again. There are better businesses out there with better installers than these guys. I only hope they back up their warranty. LOL !!
