This is a good show to take kids to. With all the Cirque shows in Vegas I was excited to see a new circus type show, since I have seen all the Cirque's in town. I came in expecting a high caliber performance with a retro circus theme. What was presented was not quite what I was expecting but an ok show.
Some spoilers below-
The show begins with the tent being set up, with a Korean Plank Act. Followed by the sideshow that had a contortionist. I don't exactly recall the order of the rest of the acts but there was a high wire act which was alright, a juggler who was pretty good, a bicycle act which was ok, and then the Elephant Puppets. The puppets were interesting to look at, but the performance with them did not yield the same power or emotions the horse in War Horse did. The grant finale was a man standing on a platform and tossing this lady around.
Overall the show was alright. I was hoping for something a little more mesmerizing. The theatre was only about 20% full. The production does not quite advertise this, but it really is a show aimed at kids. If I was on vacation with kids it would be a great show to take them to. I would not see this show if you are visiting town and are trying to decide between this and the Cirque shows as the Cirque shows are far superior. The cast is quite talented, and this show may have a better home at Circus Circus, or travelling the country and playing in smaller venues. I felt like I expected a little bit more from a show playing at a venue like Paris, but maybe my expectations were set too high. Overall if you can get a good deal on tickets and need something to take your kids to this is a great option. There were a ton of kids in the audience and it was great seeing the look of amazement on some of the younger kids during the various acts. There is a scene where they took five kids up on stage. The kids were about four to six years old and this four year old girl freaked out when the baby elephant puppet came up to see her. It was a big "aww" moment. They ended up giving her an elephant balloon and she seemed to leave happy.
