Club Red brings in some pretty good bands, but their sound quality stinks! If you have any appreciation for music, avoid this venue. Either their equipment needs help or their sound techs do (maybe both).
We went to the Alcest concert last night. The vocals from all three bands were obliterated by the loudness of the instruments. Ghostwalk's lead singer could barely be heard above the guitars. Emma Ruth Rundle, with her haunting melodic voice, looked like she was singing silently into the mic. Good thing her guitar skills rock, because that was all we could hear. And the headliner - Alcest...the sound quality was a crime. Great drums...pretty much all you heard. The guitars came through loud and the backup vocals could be heard better than the lead vocal. He was hardly audible at all, unless he spoke while the instruments were quiet. Seriously, Club Red, get your act together if you are going to feature anything other than crap noise.
On the positive side, their staff were pleasant and did a good job. Bartender was pretty good too.
