Just had a wisdom tooth pulled and two fillings yesterday. I'm the biggest dentist wimp, but Dr. Carr and his staff are really good at making you chill out and relaxed. I imagine it is a two way street, since the last thing they need is a grown man screaming and crying. Anyway, the even offered some anxiety medication, but I had already covered that one. They went out of their way to make sure I did not feel any pain whatsoever. All I felt was pressure during the fillings and during the extraction. Actually, i was quiet surprised that they were finished when they were. I expected it to be a much worse ordeal. But it was as pleasant as getting a tooth extracted and two fillings can be. My only regret is that I did not bring an ipod so I could listen to some music or an audio book. Also, they don't play around with pain. They made sure I have access to really strong pain meds if I need them. I took one yesterday a couple hours after the procedure and another several hours later as the numbness subsided. But so far today I don't really have any pain whatsoever, just a lttle tenderness and some really minor swelling. I'm not sure if I'm ready to go to Lobby's burgers and get a double bacon cheeseburger and a chocolate shake, but I was expecting this to be much worse. It was super easy, pretty quick, and really painless.
