| - A flight into Phoenix that was supposed to be a 1 hour layover turned into a late night cancellation without much more than a "not our fault!" from the airline. I booked a room here via Hotel Tonight after waiting on hold with the useless Travelliance (service that is supposed to help you book a discounted room for stranded passengers) for half an hour and hearing everyone else on my flight listening to the same awful hold music too. What a good decision!
Pros:
-free airport shuttle that picked me up 10 min after I called to request a ride
-huge, modern, well decorated lobby with plenty of places to sit and watch TV or eat
-free fast Wifi
-very nicely appointed room that was surprisingly upscale for the price
-clean, comfortable bed and crisp linens
-digital cable TV with tons of channels on a large flat screen display
-menu in room for 3rd party room service
-free breakfast with variety of cereals (in a dispenser, not the tiny boxes), juices, bagels and pastries, fresh fruit, bacon, scrambled eggs, omelettes, and those awesome DIY malted waffles with strawberry compote!
-all staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful
-extremely good value overall
Cons:
-AC was broken in the room I was initially given, but this was remedied very quickly and easily with a new room
-some of the bathroom fixtures looked dated (I'm reaching for negatives here... this did not affect my stay at all)
This hotel was worth it for the generous breakfast alone! If this was in New York or LA, a hotel like this would be at least $250 a night. It was a really nice gem in the middle of a travel mess. Thank you shuttle drivers, receptionists, and housekeeping staff!
