| - When I saw they were putting another Over Easy in Phoenix, I was ecstatic. The other location on Indian School is usually pretty packed, so I hadn't had a chance to try this place out. Imagine my surprise when, late on a Sunday morning, the restaurant was relatively empty. Odd...
I was in the mood for chicken and waffles, so I didn't have to spend too much time agonizing over the menu. It was a decent meal, but it failed to live up to the "Best Food Ever" hype (which is stated in the menu, btw). They don't really garnish it any special way, and it's a little pricey considering you get just one breast and one waffle. You can easily get two or three more pieces of chicken at other breakfast joints of similar caliber.
I think my biggest complaint though was the service. They specifically highlight their "Midwestern hospitality" on their website, but I didn't get that vibe at all. My waitress was cold and only said as much as she needed to in order to do her job. She brought the check halfway through the meal without even asking how the food was, which made me feel a bit rushed and unwelcome. Not enough to ruin my day, but still a bummer coming from a place featured on the Food Network.
I'll probably come back here again and give it another go, but before then, I'll definitely continue to broaden my brunch horizons.
