On June 15th, one of their representatives came to our house to discuss ADT in our home. First off, she most chain smoke in her car because she reeked of smoke and so did our house for some time after she left. She did not seem that knowledgeable about ADT and everything she said sounded very rehearsed. We asked various questions on the additional equipment available and her only response was "you can discuss that with the technician when he's here". She told us our monthly cost would be $49.99 for Pulse. She said we had $250 to use towards equipment but didn't really explain much.
We made an appointment for installation. June 17th a technician came to set everything up. My husband was there for the installation. We were then told it would cost us roughly $1500 to apply sensors to all the windows and couple extra things. I'm upset with the lack of information the representative had when she was selling us on your company. She should be more familiar with the products. Now, back to the installation. My husband signed the contract and set up a payment plan for the total cost. The technician told him everything would be emailed to him. When I got home, I was a little flustered by the price of it all. I went to review the cost of everything and all the invoice said was 3 payments of $xx. No itemization or anything. We waited all weekend for the email with the invoice and contract and received nothing. Finally, Monday my husband reached out to the technician. It took them 3 days to email the paperwork due to issues. After reviewing them, the math is wrong. We were overcharged by at least $210. And it says our monthly fee is $52.99, not $49.99 as we were told.
We've been trying to settle the charges and it's still going on. Still no current invoice. I called ADT. They told me I had to contact the subcontractor. I've called multiple numbers and keeping leaving voicemails for the Operations Manager. He won't respond. He responds to my husband's emails every 3 days or so. All I want is an updated itemized invoice to make sure the math is correct. He emailed my husband said he's reduce the 2 remaining payments by $125 but I want to make sure it is all correct. And apparently we're stuck with the $52.99 because that includes the "taxes and fees". Even though the representative told us $49.99.
I signed up for www.myadt.com. The company even entered my phone number incorrectly as the secondary emergency. I guess they don't verify that to make sure it's correct.
I'm extremely disappointed in your company. It's my understanding you are one of the top companies for security. I would have never expected such lack of competence from your representatives or technicians. Maybe you should actually do the work and not subcontract to subpar companies. If I could I would cancel everything and go with another company, but I can't return the equipment. I do not intend to recommend your company to anyone and will patiently wait for my contract to end in 3 years and take my business elsewhere.
In closing, my biggest complaints/areas needed for improvement:
1. Representatives should know and understand your product.
2. Technicians should know basic arithmetic. If there are errors, there should be checks and balances in place so the customer doesn't have to begin correct the issue 5 days later.
