  • Wow! I've just left Barley's Casino having gone in to get a bite to eat after working late. I've eaten out and had bad service before, but I've never been somewhere and had no service WHAT SO EVER! I sat at the bar and waited for ten minutes on a Friday night (and the place wasn't even busy) and not had a single member of staff even acknowledge my existence. When the waitress finally did appear she said that it would be at least another ten minutes before she would get to me. She then said I might want to go somewhere else. Completely unacceptable. I asked to speak to a manager, and the waitress sent a guy called David over. He looked like he had just got out of bed, with a very deshevelled appearance. Stuttering, he seemed to be surprised that I wanted to complain. When I explained the issue, he proceeded to make excuses, that they were under staffed, that he's been dealing with security issues, that he'd only just started working there. My reply was that as manager it was his responsibility to manage his staff, so if they were understaffed, then it was his fault. He stated that that remark was uncalled for. At this point I explained to him that as manager he was a failure, as he had failed to manage his staffing schedule, resulting in his waitress being overworked and failed to manage his customers expectations, by not providing any service at all. He'd failed to manage my complaint, which resulted in a lost customer, bad reviews and also an email to station casinos to inform them of his incompetence. I shall not be returning, and it's a shame because I really like the beer here.
