  • Ok I must admit, we were expecting the original BLD when we pulled up for breakfast. Decided to stay because the wait wasn't too long and the menu looked to be vast. We were sat on the patio, which has heaters galore but not one of them was lit (it was one of Arizona's cold mornings and since we are Phoenicians, anything under 70 is chilly!). It took 7 minutes for a server to come and greet us. We said we wanted to order right away since our daughter was doing the baked pancake. It took another 5 minutes to get the drinks out (water, coffee, apple juice). The server was kind and even made a remark that they rolled out a new menu and she wasn't one bit familiar with it (bizarre). I sat at the restaurant and started reading the reviews on Yelp. Seems like 3 stars is the going rate and that this new BBQ place is riding off of the original BLD. The food was mediocre. Overall, not worth the $75.00 we spent and we won't be back. Menu must have over 60 items and everyone that works there seems to walk around stressed. Owner always responds saying he appreciates the feedback but where are the changes being made? We miss the OG BLD.
